About Me

Apogee is a private human services agency in located in North Central Massachusetts.  Our agency works with people from all walks of life who struggle with mental illness, substance abuse and other social needs.  We utilize culturally sensitive, evidence-based interventions to help our clients achieve their treatment goals.

While we all have within us the power to overcome psychological distress, working with a skilled therapist can turn the process into a life-transforming experience. I am a therapist in private practice with over a decade of experience. I work with individuals of all ages on personal, social and professional matters using a person-centered, solution-focused approach.  I have also had the distinct privilege of assisting many clients achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles.

 

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Central Florida with concentrations in Psychology and mental health counseling. I have held positions in forensic assessment centers, community counseling clinics, public schools, and government agencies. I am a consultant with the Massachusetts Trial Court and Probate Courts, various national EAPs and CISM/DEM providers.

I am a Certified Substance Abuse Professional with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT-SAP). As such, I work with persons employed in designated safety-sensitive positions to complete the SAP process which include


(a) Provide a comprehensive face-to-face assessment and clinical evaluation.
(b) Recommend a course of education and/or treatment with which the employee must
demonstrate successful compliance prior to returning to DOT safety-sensitive duty.
(c) Appropriate education may include, but is not limited to, self-help groups (e.g., Alcoholics Anonymous) and community lectures, where attendance can be independently verified, and bona fide drug and alcohol education courses.

(d) Appropriate treatment may include, but is not limited to, in-patient hospitalization, partial in-patient treatment, out-patient counseling programs, and aftercare. 

(e) You must provide a written report directly to the DER highlighting your specific recommendations for assistance (see §40.311(c)). https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/part40#SubpartO

Therapy Office

An employee assistance professional works with employers and their employees to deliver a wide range of services including onsite crisis support, mental health assessments and consultation, as well family and life transition assistance. Services are typically brief in nature and covered by the EAP.

In such cases, guardians ad litem have the primary role of investigating the facts on behalf of the court on specific issues or questions.
